Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.  Many medical treatments exist for the symptoms and complications of CF with the main goal being to prevent infections, reduce the amount and thickness of secretions in the lungs, improve airflow, and maintain adequate calories and nutrition.  
A nutrition consultation will assess the caloric and nutritional adequacy of the diet, ensure the inclusion of foods with mucolytic (mucous dissolving) properties, and support with antioxidants and natural  enzymes as needed.
